Unit 12 The differences between L1 and L2 learning.

Unit 12
The differences between L1 and L2 learning.
This unit presented many good points like the fact that when people learn the L1 they learn simultaniasly the cognitive skills which it is an important point that in this unit is made, that there is a motivation and it is more difficult for adults to learn a new language since it becomes heavier for the fact that there are many things in adult´s minds than for children. also the expectations are higher. But of course that adults are concreat focus more on specific things and on what they need. It is important that students keep interested on the language and the only way is if they can have fun so as teachers we have to make this possible like with games, or with real situations like for example news or a movie which they will enjoy and won´t get bored.
That way we can built their confidence and simplify their understanding on L2, also as teachers we can build confidence, and make them interact with other students. One thing that I learn was that we have to make them feel as they were learning L1.

Unit 11 What is the Role of Error?

Unit 11
What is the Role of Error?
Here we have two things that are error and slips, personally I think when learners make errors it is a good thing since they can learn from them and remember next time when they have to use the same word or phase specially the moment that they are exposed to the language, since that is not their mother tongue as there is a lot of interference from L2 like for example when they have to use an adjective and a noun like in Spanish they do backwards since it is like that in that language.
And also learners tend to overgeneralize the rules so the most important thing is to help students learn without making them feel bad about the errors they have done and the most important part of it is no to have them fossilised, this unit was interesting because it taught us to be more lenient towards the students and not to be so hard but to understand that they can not be fast for example when they have to make as essay since those have a more difficult grammar structure

Unit 10 Exposure and Focus on Form

Unit 10
Exposure and Focus on Form
It is important that we focus on how to pick the language up  and how to aquire it since those are two different things, we do it without thinking about grammar and we just learn many words since we relate them to want we touch but is important specially for adults to focus on form also, the fact that for learners it is easier if they are exposed to the language and also to pick it up from the environment according to the site shown on the bottom.
In addition it is important to say that both things are important as we have to work out many issues in respect to the language it is easier to learn chunks specially for adults and have an interaction, it is interesting to learn how the new methods have a focus on form also not just the exposure but also the grammatical rules we have in English, like when we are children we learn our first language and without thinking about it, we could work with our students with games and they can aquire the language without any effort.
It is essential that we cope with the new methods since they have been proved that they work and it is essential the two and also a lot of interaction is important for the learner.
